2007 - 2008

This season saw the arrival of Jimmy Brattan at PSL as the Reserve Team Manager after 3 good years at Farcet United. Brattan’s time at Farcet saw him take them to two cup finals, winning one against biggest rivals Stilton and losing the other to long time league servants Netherton United.

Straight away Brattan and Lenihan hit it off making PSL once again feel like a properfootball club.

Al Lenihan steared PSL to a league and cup double last season and was hoping to stamp his mark again this season. Unfortunatley this wasn’t to be as several players decided to move on from PSL to other clubs and key players being out due to long serving suspensions.

Brattans arrival introduced several new faces for the season, some of which straight away found themselves playing 1st team football instead of being in the reserves.

 The season didn’t go as expected for Lenihan and after much thought, felt it was time for him to move on. Al had always fancied a go at UCL level and was given that opportunity half way through the season when Eynesbury Utd came knocking on his door. The offer was too good to be true and with this Al took the decision to step down as PSL 1st team manager and move on.

All at PSL would like to express their deepest thanks to Al, he has been and continues to be a great servant to PSL FC.

With Al’s departure came an opening for a 1st team manager at PSL, and top of Al’s wish list was Jimmy Brattan. After a meeting with Al and the committee of PSL, Jimmy took over as 1st team manager. It was a hard task ahead of him because as soon as Al announced he was leaving, most of the lads that played under him also moved on, either with Al, or to other clubs. This left PSL wondering if they would have a club to continue with.

 Straight away Brattan sought out Lee Britton to come on board with him. There 1st job was to make sure PSL had a 1st and Reserve team. After a lot of time and effort they achieved this within 2 weeks of them taking over the reigns.
